Look, up in the sky ...
Look, up in the sky, it's a bird ... it's a plane ... no, it's the sun! Quick everyone, the sun is shining for the first time in weeks, stop whatever you're doing, and run outside!
I think there may be an Alaska state law something like that: If the sun is shining, workers are entitled to walk outside and soak it in for a little while. If not, there should be. :)
I remember that when I lived in Talkeetna in 2007, the months of August and September were extremely rainy and gloomy, but I don't remember a long stretch like this during the middle of the summer where we had no sunlight. I've felt bad for myself, but I also feel bad for all the people up here on vacation who have waited all their lives to come to Alaska, and spent several thousand dollars to get here, only to have bad weather for such a long stretch. Hopefully now that the sun is out again it won't be such a stranger.
