2011 Iditarod race standings - March 7, 2011 (morning)
2011 Iditarod race standings: Four-time defending Iditarod champion Lance Mackey took the lead in the 2011 Iditarod race on the run from Skwentna, Alaska to Finger Lake, and then left Finger Lake 15 minutes ahead of Robert Bundtzen. This is according to the Anchorage Daily News website.
Earlier this morning the Fairbanks News-Miner reported different results, showing "Trent Herbst in the lead out of Skwentna, followed by Melissa Owens of Nome, and Aliy Zirkle and Allen Moore, both of Two Rivers."

The neat thing about this for me is that a women I stood next to at the race yesterday works with Robert Bundtzen, and she was telling me all about his race preparations, and sled dog racing in general. Between her and the couple with the stepladder that are also heading to Nome, Alaska for the end of the race, I couldn't have asked to stand in a better place at the Iditarod restart in Willow.
