Here's one view from the back of the Jenny Lane Cottage in Homer. As you can see, the view is incredible.

Here's a picture of the road leading to the Jenny Lane Cottage from the fall of 2008. I wanted to show what the road looks like, but don't let it scare you away; the cottage is very nice, and the view out the back is tremendous.

This picture shows the front entrance to the Jenny Lane Cottage in the fall of 2008. Despite the muddy appearance of the parking lot, the cottage is beautiful inside, and has a tremendous view in the back.

In case you were wondering what the Homer Seaside Cottages look like, here's a picture to their entrance.

One day I was walking around Homer and I heard some loud music coming from down the road. That's when I stumbled on the Homer Music and Recording Studio. I'm not sure what they were doing exactly, but a side door to the building was open, and they were jamming away inside.

Here's a close-up of the fun Homer Music and Recording studio sign.

This was my favorite picnic spot in Alaska. Every 10-14 days I'd make the long trek from Talkeetna to the grocery store in Wasilla. Just before leaving the grocery store I'd get something to eat from the deli, or maybe stop at one of the restaurants, get something to eat, and drive back home on Hatcher Pass.
Hatcher Pass is actually a very difficult road to drive on, and surely beat up my car quite a bit, but as you can see, the scenery is outstanding.

This was a sad day for me. Packing up and leaving the cabin I was renting in Talkeetna. Fear not though. As Arnold said, "I'll be back."

A friend sent me this link to a map that shows all the earthquakes in Alaska. As of today's date, there have been 329 earthquakes in Alaska in the last seven days, wow!
The image changes every day, but here's a look at today's picture, with the latest 329 earthquakes:

The Moose Dropping Festival is probably the largest event in Talkeetna each summer. This is one picture of the festival from the summer of 2007, featuring Melissa Mitchell.

The Fairview Inn is one of the first things you'll see in "downtown" Talkeetna. The Fairview is known for having many live music performances throughout the year.

This is a picture of the Talkeetna gas station. If you're a Talkeetna resident, this really is the gas station, unless you want to drive 14 miles to the end of the spur just to get gas.

This is Nagleys grocery store in Talkeetna. I used to refer to it as "the" grocery store in Talkeetna, but technically there is at least one other (smaller) grocery store in town ... but everyone knows Nagleys. Plus, it's great to sit on the benches in front of the store and "people watch".

This was a view of the Denali range from "the hill" as you enter Talkeetna, back in 2007, when huge fires were threatening the Mat-Su Valley.
