Alaska road and weather conditions (references)

If you happen to need to know the conditions of the roads in Alaska -- as I will very shortly -- the 511.alaska.gov site will soon be your friend. They provide information about Alaska roads, including road closures, difficult areas, construction, etc.

Another terrific site is the National Weather Service Alaska Region Headquarters. They provide watches, warnings, and weather advisories for the entire state of Alaska. If you don't want to drive into a blizzard, this site will also be very helpful.
